Baked Stuffed Tilapia

This crab stuffing can be used in many ways. It is also featured in a stuffed mushroom appetizer recipe available on this site as well. We hope you enjoy it.

CRAB STUFFING
2 6.5oz cans canned white crabmeat, undrained and any small shell pieces picked out
1 Tb Old Bay seasoning
1 Tb black pepper
1 egg
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp celery salt
2 Tb chopped green onion
1-3/4 cup plain breadcrumbs

FISH
2 Tb chopped tomato for garnishing
green onion pieces for garnishing
1/3 stick butter, sliced into four pieces
4 large tilapia filets, split down the middle lengthwise, but not all the way in half

In a medium mixing bowl, mix crabmeat, Old Bay, pepper, egg, lemon juice, celery salt and green onion.

Once stirred, add breadcrumbs and mix well.

Preheat oven to 350.

Place four large handfuls of crab mixture onto a well-oiled skillet or baking dish.

Arrange tilapia filets over each crabmeat portion. Sprinkle with Old Bay and top each with a piece of butter. Bake in oven 35-40 minutes or until stuffing is cooked through. Garnish with green onion and chopped tomatoes.
